Center for Real Estate gets $50,000 commitment for programs, classes

The Center for Real Estate at Portland State has just received a 10-year, $50,000 commitment from CB Richard Ellis, a large Los Angeles, Calif.-based real estate firm.

The center, conceived in 2004, is a joint venture between the School of Business Administration and the School of Urban Studies and Planning that caters to students interested in pursuing careers in real estate. The money will be used to create additional programs and classes.

The center currently offers a major in real estate finance and a minor and graduate certificate program in real estate development. The center graduates over 50 students who enter the real estate field as trained professionals each year.

“We’re thrilled to have the generous and long-term support of CBRE to help us achieve our vision in the Center for Real Estate of providing the region with the next generation of industry leaders,” said Scott Dawson, dean of the School of Business Administration.
