Republican headquarters vandalized

Four rocks were thrown through the front plate glass windows of the Multnomah County Republican Headquarters yesterday.

The damage is estimated at $1400 to $2000.

This is not the first time the Multnomah Republican County Headquarters have been vandalized.

Tim Trickey, political director for the Multnomah County Republican Party, was the first one to discover the damage. He says that plenty of people have given them their share of expletives and have brought their dogs to poop on their doorstep, but that no vandalism of this nature has happened before.

Tricky says the incident happened between midnight and 7 a.m. Their surveillance system was not working on that particular evening.

“It was bad timing all around,” he says of the incident. “It’s very irritating, but not intimidating.”

Trickey expressed frustration that during this critical period in getting votes out he spent most of the day dealing with the incident.

“Whoever was doing this succeeded,” he said.

A police report has been filed. While there is an ongoing investigation, there are currently no suspects according to Portland police.
