Robbery occurs in broad daylight
An unidentified individual was robbed on campus during daylight this month and Campus Public Safety is investigating the case but has not yet made an arrest.
The CPSO crime blotter shows a “strong arm robbery” occurring at 5:16 p.m. Thursday, April 14, outside the Stott Center. Three minutes later, the victim had summoned officers.
Lt. Craig Whitten, CPSO operations officer, said he could release few details because there is an ongoing investigation.”
The case is currently being investigated internally by CPSO.
“Leads are being investigated,” Whitten said.
Whitten said two individuals were involved, presumably victim and perpetrator. He would not say if a gun or other weapon was involved and declined to identify the victim.
The victim was not robbed of money but of property valued at $1,000. Nature of the property was also not revealed.
“When we crack the case, we’ll let you know,” Whitten said.
