Born on December 7, 1981, Evan Garich is a civil engineering major who hopes to obtain his goal of getting his masters degree and becoming an engineer. Along with being a veteran runner for Portland State, Garich is the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Board for 2003-04. Garich is also a Student Fee Committee member.

This Viking star holds the indoor 800-meter record (1:53.90) for Portland State. In the 2003 track season, Garich placed fifth in the 800m at the Big Sky Indoor Championship. Garich was Academic All-Big Sky Conference (track) in 2001, 2002, and 2003, and he was Academic All-Big Sky Conference in Cross Country in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

Keith Gill is from Olympia, Wash. This Viking senior is a graduate of River Ridge High School, and a transfer from Spokane Community College. Prior to Portland State, Gill was the NWAACC 110m high hurdles champion.

Gill was a member of the 4×100 NWAACC champion relay team in 2000 and 2002, and he won the All-American award in 2000 and 2002. As a Viking, Gill ran the 60m hurdles indoor and 100m outdoor in the 2003 track season, and his 15.39 in the 100m hurdles puts him sixth on PSU’s all-time list.

Senior Anthony Robinson is the 400-meter record holder in outdoor track for Portland State. A biology major, Robinson was born October 21, 1980. In the 2003 track season, Robinson was the team’s top 400-meter runner (47.38), setting a new PSU record at the Big Sky Championship. Robinson placed second, earning eight team points in this same championship meet.

Robinson also had the third-best 100m time (10.86) and second-best 200m time (22.42). Robinson ranks eighth on PSU’s all-time lists in each event. Prior to Portland State, Robinson lettered four years in track and two in football at Canby High School. Robinson was the team MVP his senior year in track, and he grabbed all state his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, when he broke the school records in the 200m, 400m and 4×100.

Not only is Jay Williams a Viking Track team member, he also plays on the PSU football team. Williams was a member of the PSU football team the past two years, starting in 2003 at wide receiver. This dual sports competitor was born January 10, 1981. Williams is a speech communications major and he enjoys reading and watching movies. In the 2003 Track season, Williams set a PSU record for the 60m hurdles (8.08, adjusted time) at the Big Sky Championship and placed third to earn six team points.

In outdoor competition, Williams set a PSU record in the 100m hurdles (14.68) at the Collegiate Challenge Meet. Williams broke a 35-year old record held by Mike Bischoff. Prior to Portland State, Williams was recruited by Northern Illinois, Illinois State, Baylor, Arizona, Northern Arizona and West Virginia for football. This possible recruit chose to start two seasons at Mesa Junior College, catching 57 passes and scoring nine touchdowns. Williams was a preseason All-American as a sophomore and earned first team All-League honors in football. He graduated from Mesa in a year-and-a-half and transferred in to PSU winter term.
