Top five strip clubs

Acropolis Steakhouse

8325 SE McLoughlin Blvd.

Portland is one of the strip club capitals of the world, rumored to have once boasted more clubs per capita than anywhere else, and Acropolis easily one of the best. A very friendly, courteous and professional staff. The talent is top-notch and appeases all tastes. There are multiple stages and the dancers perform in more of a pit than a stage, which in many ways adds to the intimacy. Overall, the atmosphere is enjoyable and everyone inside always seems to be having a great time. Not always the cleanest of dance clubs: The floors can get pretty sticky sometimes.

Dolphin II

10860 SW Beaverton Hillsdale

If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, Dolphin II is the destination. A higher-class strip joint, the dancers look like porn stars and the place is posh and well-kept. Comfortable seating, nice decorations, and an expensive, high-class feel to the whole place. The Dolphin provides a spacious and comfortable environment for friends to gather and the dancers are always top-notch. Drinks are expensive though, and so is the food. The talent can be very pushy, but they’re professionals.

Casa Diablo

37th and NW Nicolai-SHR

Recently opened and already generating quite a bit of buzz among the gentlemen of Portland. The dancers have a reputation for pushing the limit on stage, including group performances in which the girls use teamwork to make things extra tasty and entertaining for the crowd. The talent might not exactly be swimsuit models, but they’re willing to do other things to make up for any shortcomings. If you want to dance with the devil then make a trip to Casa Diablo quickly, before they’re shut down.  I’d suggest wearing protection of some kind or take hot bath when you leave. Who knows what might come home with you.

Boom Boom Room

8345 SW Barbur Blvd.

One of the most underrated strip clubs in Portland. An awesome DJ who always keeps the crowd lively with catchphrases such as the classic, “If you’re not clapping, then you must be napping.” The dancers can vary from sexy to trashy, but the drinks are always made stiff, so beer goggles will temper any concerns. Not a lot of seating, the place can feel cramped sometimes and it’s doubtful they’ve ever hired a maid, at least for cleaning purposes.

Mary’s Club

129 SW Broadway

A Portland nightlife landmark, Mary’s is infamous for being the Rose City’s first topless bar. Serving up shows for over 50 years, if you visit only one dance club in this town it should probably be Mary’s. The inside is stuffy and sleazy, but embodies that red-light district feel that fits right in with rowdy environment.
