Wim WiewelPresidentWiewel was selected as university president after a yearlong search to replace Daniel Bernstine. A former administrator and professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago and the University of Baltimore, Wiewel began his first year at Portland State with a bang: Three weeks in, he accepted a $25 million grant on behalf of the university.
Roy KochProvost and vice president for Academic AffairsKoch has been at Portland State since 1982 and has filled multiple roles, including vice provost for research and dean of graduate studies. As provost and vice president for academic affairs, Koch is responsible for directing the academic mission of the university.
Lindsay DesrochersVice president for Finance and AdministrationWhile Desrochers was not appointed to the presidency, she remains an important and influential figure at Portland State. Desrochers is in charge of making sure the university and most of its programs have enough money.
Dan FortmillerDirector for the Undergraduate Advising and Support Center Fortmiller directs the Undergraduate Advising and Support Center (UASC). The center helps newly enrolled undergrads by providing information and acting as a referral source for students to campus services, advisors and other resources.
John EckmanInterim executive director of Housing and Transportation Services Eckman has served in numerous capacities since coming to Portland State, but he is currently in charge of overseeing housing, transportation and parking. He also helps develop the university’s long-range plans for those areas.
Michele ToppeInterim dean of studentsAfter first coming to PSU in 1995, Michele Toppe is now entering her second full year as interim dean of students. With over 19 years of experience at four Oregon universities, Toppe is committed to empowering students through her work in PSU’s Office of the Dean of Students.
Torre ChisholmAthletic directorChisholm begins his second full year at the helm of PSU’s fledgling athletics program. Chisholm has already had success during his tenure, most importantly overseeing the men’s basketball team’s NCAA Tournament appearance last spring.
