Holiday gore for all

The holiday season is upon us and that means joy to the world, peace for all mankind, and Season’s Bleedings. The Season’s Bleedings Film Festival is a holiday treat for all those independent films that have no right to grace the light of the big screen.

Season’s Bleedings is slated for Dec. 18 at the Bossanova Ballroom (772 E. Burnside St.). Besides showing original gems of true gore, the festival will include live acts, such as a zombie dance troupe called the Gore Whores, and live sketch comedy. If that is not enough for you blood suckers out there, prizes from some of P-town’s hot shopping and dining spots will be raffled through out the evening.

Proceeds raised from the event will be donated to p:ear, a non-profit agency aimed at building relationships with underprivileged teens through art.

Sponsors for the event include Willamette Week, Bossanova Ballroom, Two Pussy Productions and the blogger Little Lost Robot.

The locally-produced film festival is currently looking for independently made gore films. Film submissions can either be entered in the festival’s exhibition category, or the holiday contest category. Films entered in the exhibition category can be no more than 15 minutes long and must have lots of blood.

Films submitted in the holiday contest category must be five minutes or less in length, and have some sort of ultra-violent holiday theme. All entries must be submitted on either BETA, mini-DV, DVC-PRO, HIGH 8, DVD or VHS formats.

You can get an official entry form at www.seasonsbleedings.com.
