OSPIRG demands are audacious
It is incredible that OSPIRG is demanding more money from the Student Fee Committee at a time when PSU is close to laying off faculty and staff in order to make ends meet. The entire Oregon University System is in a budget crisis, which will only be worse when (not if, when) Measure 28 fails at the polls.
With the tuition surcharges already hitting students, how can OSPIRG be so audacious to demand more money at a time when we have to pay more just to make due with less? If anything, the SFC should be looking at places to trim the budget, and OSPIRG’s $120,000 is a good place to start.
