Rock n’ roll Halloween Bash

Come to campus this Friday to experience a Halloween Bash the likes of which Portland has never seen: an evening of bands, movies, costumes, raffle prizes, candy and the Lost Village of Horror for weary and wary travelers. Nothing can prepare you for the terror you’ll sense or the fun you’ll have.

The bash will be hosted on the PSU campus on the first floor of Smith Memorial Student Union. Show up at 7 p.m. to witness a musical lineup truly in the spirit of the season: Ricci Swift, Kieskagato, Papa Ike and the Trainwrecks, and headlined by the masters of the holiday, 800 Octane themselves. There’s a $2 general admission for the show, but it’s free with a PSU student ID.

But there’s more for the truly adventurous. Viking Bowl is offering $1 bowling, with KPSU DJs Austin Rich, Buck Rothy and Miss Meghan spinning haunted tracks and spooky breaks the whole night through. As if that weren’t enough, Reverend Kate has put together a Lost Village of Horror to wander around in, and classic horror movies selected by Portland State’s Film Committee will be showing too.

That’s not all! Between the bands there will be an old-fashioned costume contest. The best-dressed party-goers will receive a photo-op in the Vanguard and prizes. And for any donations to the Katrina Relief Effort, you’ll be entered into a raffle for various prizes that only KPSU can offer. All that, and donations by Widmer Brothers, makes this the Halloween party not to be missed.

Consider this the kickoff to your weekend of Halloween madness! See you there.
