On the evening of Tuesday, July 9, at approximately 9:43 p.m., Campus Public Safety officers went in foot pursuit of Robert Jensen, a nonstudent and registered sex offender who was the suspect in a report to CPSO about a male masturbating in public on the second floor of the School of Education building.
University of Oregon arms its campus police officers
On June 21, in a 7-0 vote, the State Board of Higher Education elected to arm the University of Oregon’s campus police officers. The University of Oregon Police Department’s 11 sworn police officers were able to carry firearms in the line of duty immediately following the ruling.
Suspects arrested in multiple springtime CPSO cases
The Portland State Campus Public Safety Office has made arrests in several criminal cases that occurred during spring quarter. One of the cases was a sexual assault that occurred on June 8 at 3:40 p.m. CPSO and the Portland Police Bureau responded to a report that a female student was followed from the transit mall into Neuberger Hall by an unknown suspect, who entered the elevator with the victim and then sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to strike the suspect, causing him to flee, and the victim was not physically injured.

Robbery in Neuberger update
On Saturday, April 27, at 8:10 p.m., the Campus Public Safety Office and the Portland Police Bureau responded to a report that a female student walking on the second floor of Neuberger Hall was grabbed from behind and restrained by an unknown male subject who removed her phone and fled toward Hall Street. The victim was uninjured.
