The Portland State women’s basketball team comes back the Stott Center this week hoping to end its four-game losing streak. After losing two straight due to second-half woes, head coach Sherri Murrell said resilience is the top priority this weekend.

“We’ve got to step up and be tough,” she said. “People who are long to score need to score. We’re not going to win playing defense like we did against Montana State and Montana. We’re collapsing; we’re not playing defense for two halves. We’re going to have to step up and be the resilient team we are known for.”

The Vikings’ upcoming opponents haven’t found refuge on the road—both Weber State and Northern Arizona are winless away from home. Senior guard Eryn Jones said being back home will be important for the Vikings to get their game back on track.

The Vikings take on last place Weber State tonight. The winless Wildcats come to Portland on a nine-game losing streak and sit at 2-19, 0-8 in-conference. On Saturday the Vikings are set to face the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, who sit just one place above Weber State in eighth. The ’Jacks are 7-14, 2-7 in-conference.

Tonight’s game is slated for 7 p.m., and Saturday’s tip-off is 2 p.m.
