Nepalese Student Association raises funds for earthquake victims

Portland State’s Nepalese Student Association is reaching out to the PSU community to support and raise money for those affected by the April 25 earthquake in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The earthquake, which registered at 7.8 on the Richter scale, caused severe damage, claimed more than 4,600 lives and injured 9,000 more.

According to a press release from University Communications today, members of the Nepalese Student Association have launched a Nepal earthquake relief fundraising campaign through Mercy Corps and will be setting up informational tables throughout campus on Thursday and Friday of this week.

The student association’s Mercy Corps page lists a fundraising goal of $50,000.
